Dick Smith

 SMITH Richard M, 64 of Columbus, passed away August 14th, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Virginia Smith. Dick is survived by his brother Jim Smith and sister Maryann Jarvis., many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Dick was the original drummer for McGuffey Lane. Quoted by friends as    “One of the craziest and funniest envelope stretchers known to man.” “A great friend to many and the most gentle spirits one could know.” “How special he made each person in his life feel.” “In a world where people are too often consumed with themselves or their own lives Dick always had time for everyone.” “He gave and gave. He entertained us all. He told us how wonderful we were.” “He encouraged young and budding musicians, gave them his time, his praise.“ He was fully engaged in life. He knew how precious it was. A “Celebration of Dicks Life” will be held at Coaches, 1480 Bethel Road in The Bethel Center, Wednesday August 22nd at 7:00pm.
